Only in Wellington
From Cricinfo:
101.4 Hauritz to McCullum, no run, full ball hits the foot marks and turns sharply from outside the off stump, McCullum doesn’t offer a shot and the ball thuds into his front pad. Huge appeal but not given, the decision is referred and it looks like McCullum is safe as ‘virtual’ is not available because the cameras have been taken down due to the wind Ponting is not happy with this result and is having a talk with the umpires about it, unsure what he is trying to achieve, maybe saying he would not have referred if he known no ‘virtual’ was not available? Or, are they discussing the future of referrals in this match?

Fascinating point. Well described too. Only in NZ is fair enough. At least your boys are putting up a fight. Good to see. I hope they can take at least 3 or 4 aussie wickets in the final innings. Sorry about the underarm.

That was rather funny. Talk about local conditions working to your advantage.
Kudos to Dan and Baz for putting us in significantly better position; although these glimmers of hope are often the worst kind because the odds are we’ll be a bit more disappointed at the end of the test.

The decision whether or not the referral counted as failed would affect the rest of the innings under possibly friendlier circumstances (cameras working again).
The cricket, my friend, is blowing in the wind…
